Interview mit unserer Fremdsprachenassistentin Megan Moore

(The interview was done in the English-AG, so it's in English)

1. Where are you from? - I am from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

2. How long have you been in Germany? - I have been in Germany since August 2015, but at Städtisches Gymnasium Barntrup since September 2015.

3. How old are you? - I am 23 years old.

4. Why did you come to Germany? - After I finished my Bachelor degree in Anthropology in 2014, I wanted to spend some time abroad. I had already learned a little bit of German and also wanted to get teaching experience, so I applied to the Fulbright English teaching program in Germany.

5. How did you come to this school? - When I applied to the teaching program in Germany, I wasn't able to choose where I wanted to go. I was assigned to Barntrup by chance.

6. Where do you live in Germany? - I live in a shared apartment (WG) in Detmold.

7. Do you have a car in Germany? - No, I do not.

8. What do you like about Germany? - I like how easy it is to get around with public transportation. I can go almost everywhere with just the train, bus, and my bike.

9. What's your favorite food in Germany? - In America it is really hard to find fresh bread, so I love the bakeries in Germany. We also do not have white asparagus in America, so I've enjoyed trying that too.

10. What's your favorite German word? - 'Erdmännchen' is my favorite German word because it sounds so cute!

11. Do you have friends in Germany? - Yes, I do have a few friends in Germany. Thankfully I have met some nice people here.

12. How is the weather in America? - In Atlanta, where I'm from, it is much warmer than in Germany. For example, last Christmas it was 20°.

13. What do you want to be/do in your future? - I want to be a university professor. In September I will start my Phd (Doctor of Philosophy/Doktorstudium) in the subject of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Minnesota.
